Visa-exempt Nationals

Citizens of Canada and Bermuda generally do not require a visa to visit the USA, with exception for certain purposes. For more information see the U.S. Embassy Ottawa websiteU.S. Consulate Hamilton website and CBP website.

Visa Waiver Program

The Visa Waiver Program enables citizens or nationals of participating countries to travel to the US for tourism and business purposes up to 90 days without obtaining a visa. Travelers must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization approval prior to travel.

Visa-required Nationals

Visa-required nationals, including citizens of China and Mexico, will need to apply for a visa prior to traveling to the United States. More information on the visa application process and requirements can be found here.

Important Information for All Travelers Entering the United States

It is the responsibility of each traveler to check whether their medications will be allowed in the country, and you must be aware of restrictions prior to departure. Travelers can check the status of the medications on the U.S. Customs and Border Control Protection website.
